Within 24 Hours of Their First Date, Kenneth Knew Nabia Was Going to Be His Wife
They say love makes you do crazy things. Sometimes, this can even mean taking a spontaneous trip to a place you have no ties to, just to have a date with your Instagram crush.
For Kenneth, this wasn’t a mere adventure but rather a sweet step toward forever with his soulmate, Nabia… and it was totally worth it! That one trip birthed the beginning of their beautiful love story. They talked late into the night, forgetting they were strangers, and in less than 24 hours, one thing was certain — they were made for each other. Now, three years down the line, they are sealing their love forever with a colourful Ghanaian traditional wedding. It was love, culture, and beauty on full display, and we can’t get enough!

Their love story as shared by Kenneth:
Our love story began in February 2022 on Instagram. I first saw Nabia on the platform and was instantly drawn to her—her beauty, her spirit, and the fact that she was Ghanaian too. After a few months of admiration from afar, I strategically decided to slide into her DMs. At the time, Nabia was in Atlanta, and I was in Dallas. With no real reason to visit Atlanta, I spun a story about a business trip to Atlanta—and invited Nabia to her favourite restaurant. She said yes, and five minutes later, I had booked my ticket. Our first date was magical. We talked for five hours straight, completely lost in conversation. I recall it felt like a trance—and only the clatter of a spoon in the kitchen brought us back to reality and that’s when we realized we were the last people in the restaurant, with tables stacked on chairs, and yet, the connection was undeniable.
Nabia came with that melanin glow 😍
The weekend plans? Canceled. We wanted more time together. On the second day, we knew it was real. Singing and dancing to High Life in the car, we realized we had found our ‘forever person.’ It was on this day, roughly 24 hours after meeting, I knew I was going to make Nabia my wife! Two weeks later, Nabia visited me in Dallas. We were so confident in each other that just two weeks after meeting each other we got matching tattoos of the date we met—May 13th, 2022. Soon after, I moved to D.C., and Nabia moved in three months later. Over the next year and a half, we traveled, explored new places, and built a life together.
