GOV. ENO PRESCRIBES RECIPE FOR ATTAINMENT OF HONOUR, GREATNESS

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has charged women desiring greatness and honour to embrace the fear of God in all their life endeavours.

Governor Eno gave the counsel when he addressed women during the 2025 Healing Service of the Women International Convention of Gospel Foundation Mission, GFM, in Etinan.

He enjoined women to express the fear of God in their actions and lifestyles so they can be honoured and celebrated by God.

In his short and impactful remark, drawn from Proverbs 31:30, Governor Eno noted that "Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing, but a woman who fears the LORD, she shall be praised."

According to him, the greatness of a woman is not measured by wealth, nor by beauty, but by the fear of God.

"Every woman here today, because you fear God, you are a woman of honour in the sight of God. It is not by wealth. Biblical women of honour had never been by wealth; it has never been by beauty. All of that is deceitful," he explained.

The Governor admonished that the world may recognize people and honour them because they have money and big titles, but God's ways are different.

He reiterated that Biblical women of honour were those who feared the Lord, and admonished that anyone who wants God to honour her, will fear God in her actions, business and in her relationships with people be it at home or in the public.

He said, "any woman who fears God, would not do what others are doing. People who fear God do not join or behave like those in the world. You are not like others, but you are yourselves."

Governor Eno commended the founder of the Gospel Foundation Mission, Dr. (Mrs.) Enobong Essien, for being a  role model who has the fear of the Lord.

"We can say with certainty that our mother in the Lord is a woman of honour because she fears the Lord.

"She said one thing today that you don't give because you have in abundance; you give because God has placed on you a burden. We want to thank God for her life, and we want to thank God for the mothering spirit that is imbued in her," he noted.

Governor Eno noted that praises of men will fade away, but that the praise of God stands forever and in generations after them, trusting that the Lord Almighty will continue to make men and women of great honour.

Earlier, Bishop (Mrs.) Enobong Essien thanked God for raising and sustaining her and her widows foundation for over 25 years and for transforming the lives of widows for the better to the glory of God.

Bishop Essien, who is the Governor's spiritual mother, appreciated the Governor as well as past leaders of the State for their great impact on her life and her foundation.

On the Governor's entourage were the Secretary to the State Government, Prince Enobong Uwah; members of the State Executive Council, the clergy, political stalwarts, captains of industry, and christians within and outside the State.
